Lesson 2!

Welcome back class you all did a wonderful job in lesson one transforming your Q-Tips to Pencils. I hope you all took notes, that will be on the final!
Today's lesson will have you learning more about the history of Transfiguration spells. As you can see, i have a turtle on my desk and you each have various creatures on yours. I want you to look through your books and read the section on Root words in Transfiguration spells. Then I would like you to write me a one good paragraph paper on what you think the spell would be for turning your animal into a bird and why. Whether you get the spell correct or not doesn't matter, i am judging the quality of your work by your writing and creativity. Remember, most root word come from other languages *hint hint*. Please put your scroll on my desk when you are finished.

Athena glanced at the dog sitting on her desk.
I believe that the spell that I should use to turn this dog into a bird would be Perritosa Foulius. I took the spanish word for dog- perro- and added a little, and then used another word for certain birds- foul. It should work, since many spells were derived from a mixture of spanish and english, as this one was.
With a flourish of her quill, Athena walked up and set her paper on the professor's desk.

Very nice athena, i liked the creativeity but i would have liked just a little more detail, why don't you try your spell out though and see what happens. Not many people know this but there are usually more than one spell that do the same thing.

Marshall looked at his animal, a Chameleon. He remembered what the Professor had said and looked up Chameleon in Spanish. He found that cameleon was "camaleón" in spanish and that one word for bird was "pájaro." After learning the new words he joined them together in a way in which they would "flow" smoothly. "Camajaro," was what he decided upon. He looked at his chameleon trying to evade the inevtiable transformation into a bird it changed a dark brown, the color of his desk. Marshall pointed his wand and said, "Camajaro!" The cameleon at first turned a bright sky blue, Marshall assumed it was because that would be where a bird is normally found... after the flash of color the chameleon sprouted wings and it's nose began into a beak, and rather rapidly it transformed into a little blue jay.

Athena waved her wand and shouted "Perritosa Foulius!" The spotted dog turned into a chicken, which spread its wings and flew up.
"Erm... are chickens supposed to be able to fly? And breath fire?" Athena stared up at the fire-breathing chicken, which was now thoroughly torching the ceiling fan.

Athena grinned, happy that the chicken was no longer torching the ceiling.
"Perritosa Foulius!!" The greek goddess shouted the spell this time. Surprisingly, the dog turned into an owl, which didn't breath fire.

Fawkes thought hard, looking at the falcon on his desk. Being Italian himself, and being to converse in the language,Fawkes translated his transfiguration into Italian. Falco, being Falcon..and Uccello, being bird. He changed his around to make it into an incantation. 'Flacotiem Eruccello',he thought was good. He wrote down his incantation, and his reasons for believing so,and walked up and handed it to the Professor. He returned to his seat, waiting anxiously to see how he did.

That good Fawkes, the idea and the italian creativity are good but i'm not sure why you have a falcon and are attempting to change it into a bird... no matter, why don't you try the spell and asee what happens...

'Well, coinsidence enough,I'm always represented as a falcon. My patronus, my father's,and my pet falcon,Kayden,so I guess it's just me!' said Fawkes, it seeming quite odd, that he was indeed trying to turn a FALCON..into..a..BIRD. hehe
He took his essay back, and said Thanks to Professor Jes. He went to a corner and was ready to attempt his spell. 'Falcotiem Eruccello' he cried, concentrating on the animal. It shook, but nothing happened. He tried and tried again, and the closest he got was when it turned to smoke, and then back again.

I looked all over the library and I found the perfect spell, the spell itself will turn my mouse into a bird, it's the "mooshia pajarirtiera" spell. The word mooshia comes from the Farsi ( a persian language, from the Country of Iran) word in "moosh" in that means mouse, and the word "Pajarirtiera" comes from, the spanish word Pajaro which means bird. What will happen when you perform this spell correctly is that the mouse will hover for a few seconds, there will be an explosion of light coming out from the turtle, and since the light is so strong, no one can see how it transfigures into a bird. Now, it won't turn immediatelly into a fully grown bird, but it will transfigure into a just born- baby bird.

hmmm..Kv you've made this very complicated. My first question is why did you mix two Languages? when making a spell the first thing to remember is to always stick with one language. Second...why is my turtle involved? When you are doing these spells I would like only ONE animal to have anything to do with the spell. And third, thoguh your spell is creative, I did not ask for a baby bird, i asked for a bird. right now i'm awarding 5 points to gryffindorso if you want to up that I would suggest re-doing your spellwork and handing me a parchment lenght essay on the properties of spells and how to make them.
